Yarn for a temperature blanket
I had a couple of things that made this an ideal yarn for my project. First, there were a wide selection for colors that I could incorporate. I started out with twenty colors and had one color represent five degrees before changing colors. Second, I decided that I wanted a DK weight instead of of worsted because there are going to be 365 rows (one for each day of the year) and for balance I put 325 stitches in the starting chain. Finally, I was very pleasantly surprised by the softness. It has a very nice hand. No splits or snagging.
I have done almost a month ( blanket started on December 1) , and people who have seen the work have been very complimentary.
